Tehjeh Deé (the South Nahanni River) is one of the world’s great wilderness destinations. It is the experience of a lifetime to explore this remote, pristine alpine river valley. You will discover a mountainous wonderland with breathtaking canyons, a magnificent waterfall, diverse wildlife, and exciting paddling on the fast flowing river. This raft-based trip is designed to pack the most possible into a shorter duration trip, with the added comfort of exploring the area by raft. The route follows the river from Náįlįcho (Virginia Falls) through the spectacular canyon section of the Tehjeh Deé (the South Nahanni River) through to the Mackenzie Lowlands.

The trip is highlighted by fun class I and II whitewater, interesting day hikes up tributary canyons, wildlife viewing and exploring Náįlįcho (Virginia Falls). Although well known, the river is so remote that around 250 paddlers get to experience it each year. The Nahanni Cultural Rafting Tour is accessible to a wide range of participants, as advanced whitewater paddling skills are not required.
